Thompson LES
Thompson Hotels’ fourth Manhattan property is the collaboration of some of the flashiest names in art and design. Designed by Ed Rawlings Architects, with interiors by Jim Walrod and inspired by the LES neighborhood’s creative undercurrent, the hotel is the ultimate in clean, industrial New York. The 141 rooms feature custom designed light boxes by Lee Friendlander, the pool displays an image of Andy Warhol created by his confidant Gerard Malanga, and the restaurant features large scale paintings by the legendary Peter Halley. Thompson LES’ 18 stories house a multiplex of unique public spaces, a pool side lounge, the exclusive 7th floor terrace Above Allen with sweeping views of the city, and world renown Susur Lee’s first American venture SHANG.
